Farid Aziz or his personal name, Muhammad Farid Bin Abdul Aziz, 28 years old, is a Sepak Takraw player, representing Johor Tigris. He had ventured into Sepak Takraw sports field almost 13 years as a professional Sepak Takraw player. Initially, he started playing Sepak Takraw when he was 15 years old. However, by that time he is not seriously taking part in playing Sepak Takraw, he just play as to fulfill his leisure time. Then, when he was 16, his started to play seriously and had a desire to become a professional Sepak Takraw player. The highest achievement he had achieved was a champion of Piala Emas Khir Johari in Johor Bahru and Kota Bharu and was rewarded with fifteen thousand ringgit and ten thousand ringgit from it. Besides that, he once represented Kuala Lumpur in Sepak Takraw League (STL) before joining Johor Tigris team. He is now one of the most important member in Johor Tigris team and is regularly played for the title contender. In addition, he have to manage his time between training and his family. During the day, he worked from 8 am until 5 pm. If he had a training session, he will straight for it from 5pm until 11pm, and then driving back home. He also said that he was struggling in what he do, he had to sacrificed his time for training as well as spending time with his family. “If we are facing a bitter and hard moment, ‘In shaa Allah’ we will get the sweet from it as we used to heard no pain no gain.” He added, “When we had sacrificed everything to be in the team, we must give all of our best and should not play the game just for the purpose of fun and entertainment, because we had used all the time, money and passion for training.” When he had been asked about his dreams for the 2020 year, Farid Aziz said that he did not have any unaccomplished dream to be chased by 2020. “I do not have any specific dreams to be chased this year as in this 2020, I don't have any specific target.” He also planned to run a business besides being a professional Sepak Takraw player.
He then added, “ We must seek for the opportunities, like making a journey to each state to gain experience”. He initially played for Selangor state, at that time he was only 16 years old and he found out that it is difficult for him to compete with others in order to be in the team, then he decided to travel to Negeri Sembilan. After that, he went to Kuala Lumpur and also once joined with Putrajaya for a year and then got another experience when move to Kelantan.
“Do not wait for people to come at us, we must go and find peoples that can give us the chance to develop our career. Some players love to set in their mind that the opportunities will come to them and it is totally wrong, we should advance forwards and go for it”, said him.
